We are actively seeking a Network Engineer to join our clients’ remote site in Pennsylvania, about 30 miles east of Scranton in Hawley. You will represent the business from here, alongside your team of 9 other Networks Engineers based across the globe.

This is a technical role which would suit a problem solver, and someone who enjoys to work on the whole Network IP Lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of IP production networks associated with IP platforms, Internet Backbone infrastructure and media content contribution/distribution. He / She will have a dedication and commitment to providing a high level technical competence, professionalism and customer service.

Prior experience in a similar network engineering role is essential as we need someone to hit the ground running. Prior experience in Telecommunications is ideal but not essential.

Key Duties Include:

  • Participate in the design of core transport networks and its associated provisioning and assurance systems, including, but not limited to: validation of technical requirements, assessment of platforms or vendors and budgetary requirements;
  • In time implementation of the core transport networks nodes and points-of-presence (PoP) in line with the design principles and business requirements; Strong focus on maintaining up-to-date documentation (drawings/operational procedures/trouble shooting guides)
  • Whilst working on site in Hawley, you will also have a team of 9 in different key areas across the world.
  • Responsible for proactive maintenance of the core transport networks, through upgrades and preventive maintenances and for reactive maintenance via Level 3 network engineering support

About 30 miles East of Scranton in a town called Hawley.

To ideally work at this site full time.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Routing knowledge
  • Solid knowledge in IGP, BGP, OSPF etc
  • Solid knowledge in MPLS services, RSVP, MPLS-TE etc
  • Running IOS classic and IOS XR
  • Runnings IGP’s, MPLS and have experience in deploying these technologies and equipment
  • Running end to end service provider services like VPN’s
  • Multicast would be great but not essential – heavily video side
