We are working with a fantastic cyber security company in Bournemouth who are looking for a SOC analyst to join their team in either an analyst position or as a team leader.

This is a newly created role due to growth. The current SOC team sits at between 8-11 people including university placements so this position will need someone with a degree of maturity to lead the team.

Role overview:

• Responding to major and minor cyber security incidents and to the tickets to make the SLA’s.
• Providing enhanced monitoring, analysis and escalation of security incidents for the clients customers.
• Using technical skills to provide triage and to ensure that security incidents are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Reporting into the SOC Manager and also taking a level of responsibility for the other levels 1-3 analysts.
• Proactive management of the IT security incident tickets assigned to you.
• Carrying out technical investigative work for security incidents escalated to level 3

About you

• This role is very much open to people of all levels and abilities.
  The current team is made up of junior members of staff from people on placement years, as well as experienced members of the team. Ideally we want someone with more experience in order to come in and hit the ground running, as well as being partially responsible for the current team.
• You will be experienced in IT security and have some level of leadership experience
• You will have an interest or prior experience in cyber security
• You will have good technical ability
• You could have come from the military as many of the current work force have. Please make this experience clear on application as it will stand out.

Role Location
This is an office based role – full time. You will need to be able to travel into Bournemouth town centre, ideally by train or bus as there is no parking on site.

Key things to note:

This position works on a rota system of 7 days a week.
Shifts include:
7AM-3:30PM
9AM-5:30PM
11AM-7:30PM

Eventually the goal is for this role to go 24/7 so you will need to be flexible with your time, as standard in these types of positions.

There will also be weekend work of 1 in 5 currently, where you will be duly compensated and given time back in order to be fair.
